Tailgating

Merry Christmas everyone! Today kicks off the new year for college football. And with that comes my old friend, tailgating. Here at UNLV, tailgating has become a sport in itself due to the vivacious lifestyle in Las Vegas and lack of talent in recent years.

Adequate preparation for a for a tailgate is much similar to that of a marathon. The day prior to tailgate you should carbo-load, hyrdate by drinking lots of water, and make sure you get at least 9 hours of sleep. I then like today, like to have all you can eat sushi as my meal of the day leading into the tailgate and not eat until I have chicken fings and garlic fries at halftime.

Tailgate should consist of lots of beer games, pouring things over your head, having a conversation with someone you have never met in line at the porta potty, all while keeping your composure with just a few beads of sweat on your brow.

I feel like tailgates might also be a lot more fun if the athletes were allowed to participate as well. Who knows they might play better, couldn’t hurt…
